Our client, a leading not for profit professional membership body, requires a new Print Book Sales Executive to grow sales of print book product through effective management of global channel relationships. This will include direct sales via web, third party print agent, resellers, academic and corporate customers. Working closely with marketing and commissioning to ensure regular information flow across all global channels, regarding products, promotions and pricing. To raise profile of print books through customer visits, trade events, agent sales conferences and other appropriate engagement strategies. To monitor sales performance and identify threats/opportunities to deliver on annual print revenue targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage agents and sales channels to maximise output and revenue,
  • Maintain and develop good relationships with key stakeholders
  • Attend relevant book and sales conferences to meet existing and prospective customers
  • Formulate, negotiate and successfully agree sales proposals
  • To work with the Publishing Sales Manager to formulate sales development strategies
  • Produce regular reports on sales activity and development opportunities
  • Undertake appropriate research analyses of sales channels to improve market knowledge and incorporate into sales development plans
  • Monitor financial performance during the year, report and advise on forecasts for year-end figures and future years
  • Work with Sales Manager to set annual sales revenue targets, advising on future publishing revenues

Skills & Expereince:

  • Excellent negotiation, presentation and communication skills
  • Good numeracy skills as well as the ability to analyse and communicate sales data
  • Proficient with MS Office, internet, CRM databases
  • Ability to develop effective relationships
  • Results and detail orientated
  • Proven sales and team working skills
  • Proven track record in academic book sales
  • Understanding of print publishing processes
