Regional Sales Manager

Our client, a global STM publisher, requires a new Regional Sales Manager who will be will be responsible for managing sales across Academic, Corporate & Government institutions.

You will be responsible for growing new customers through a deep portfolio of products and services, including our scientific journals, eBooks, reference, open access offerings and training resources.

Key to this expansion is building relationships to support the changes in the publishing landscape to include Open Access publishing solutions. The RSM will act as the commercial representative for sponsored events and other industry-related programs within their assigned region with the goal of improving direct connections with our customers to actively grow and strengthen our footprint in the market.

You will need to have demonstrated sales skills and achievements, knowledge of the scientific publishing industry, and an inherent appreciation for the value of quality journals.

Skills & Experience:

  • 5 plus years of publication and/or database sales experience targeting STM research-intensive higher education universities and government markets.
  • Experience engaging in sales outside of the library setting and directly with teaching faculty, corporate and government customers including committee-level experience working with multiple
  • Exceptional presentation skills, both virtually and in-person
  • The ability to make decisions and engage stakeholders to take appropriate actions.
  • Strong organisational and CRM skills, and experience of using data to drive decision-making and uncover/support customer needs and opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal day-to-day supervision.
  • Ability to develop and maintain internal working relationships across geographies in order to achieve mutual objectives.
