Our client, a leading STM publisher with offices in Beijing, requires a new Internal Communications Manager.

Reporting to the Head of Internal Communications, you will actively contribute to the development and delivery of the Internal Communications strategy.

You will be responsible for defining and driving an editorial calendar that supports business priorities and creating or commissioning the resulting stories that need to be told.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and manage a global editorial committee and editorial calendar.
  • Commission, create and edit content for engaging stories across the organisation.
  • Edit and approve content from other colleagues, including senior leaders.
  • Manage communications across a variety of forms (print, online, audio, video, presentations, etc.)
  • Use all available communications channels effectively, including web, social media, print, email and face-to-face, and be involved in evaluating and deploying new channels.
  • Build effective working relationships globally.
  • Contribute to initiatives and projects aimed at addressing specific communication needs.

Skills & Experience:

  • A suitable professional qualification in communications or related field
  • A good understanding of the role internal communication plays in corporate messaging and staff engagement
  • Experience with community, social media and collaboration tools, notably Microsoft Office 365 and all MS Office packages
  • Experience of working in a Corporate Communications role, communications agency, in-house newsroom or similar
  • Perfect English language writing and editing skills

The Reviewer Engagement Manager is accountable for design and delivery of best in class reviewer training and engagement programmes serving researchers across China; using a variety of research tools and skills to identify experts suitable to act as peer reviewers for international, cutting edge biomedical research. Strong data analysis skills are a prerequisite. The role will also include line-management of a small team, also based in Beijing.

Reporting to the UK-based Head of Reviewer Programmes, the Reviewer Engagement Manager will collaborate with global colleagues to present training online and in person, to organise reviewer training and engagement events, and to match reviewers with appropriate journals. You will work closely with sales, marketing and editorial colleagues to ensure approaches are aligned with both global departmental objectives and local strategic context.

In this new, crucial role, you will be responsible for developing and delivering strategies to influence policy among government agencies, funders, and policy makers, and for building an in-depth understanding of policy relating to researchers to inform company policy and process and to position the company as a key partner of influence with external stakeholders.

Key Accountabilities:

Our client, a global educational publisher, requires a new Senior Desk Editor to oversee textbooks and digital materials for secondary English, Science, Computing and Maths.

As part of a small team, you will oversee a range of titles from manuscript hand-over to publication. You will work closely with Production, Design and Picture Research teams and also supervise freelance editorial suppliers, maintaining good working relationships while ensuring that standards remain high.

We need a proactive editorial planner with an education in a "hard" science (Physics, Maths, Engineering, Chemistry). You must be an effective teamworker, and quick to adapt to changing circumstances. An understanding of the publishing process and excellent copy-editing and proofreading skills are essential. Also, a track record of editorial project management, on educational or academic books or other resources, is required.

Our client, a global STM Publisher, requires a new Insight Manager who will lead the Insights Team (6 People) in delivering high-quality Business, Customer and Market Intelligence via reports, dashboards and self-service data sets, with accompanying analysis.

The Insights Manager will use BI as a tool to deliver against organisational goals, supporting the move towards a more data-driven organisation. They will own the exploitation and analysis of sales, circulation, customer, market, usage and bibliometrics data. Helping embed product performance metrics and customer engagement analytics in our major processes throughout the business.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead the Insights team that collates, analyses and presents internal data (publishing, sales, financial, usage) and external data (market, customers, competitive) to enable the business to make informed decisions on strategic direction, sales strategies, new product development / R&D, pricing, marketing and routes to market.
