Senior Account Manager – Professional Services

Salary: £80,000 – £90,000 + Bonus 

Our client, a global information and professional services business requires a new Senior Account Manager who will provide account management services to a named list of important clients.

The position will interact externally with multiple levels (including senior management contacts) within the specified client organisations to ensure continuing satisfaction, identify and nurture leads, and introduce and grow revenue opportunities and operational efficiencies. The position will also interact internally with a range of colleagues as the “account expert” and internal leader of the accounts.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides ongoing direction and support as Account Manager to a defined list of Accounts ensuring that the relationship and revenue targets are met.
  • Work with the customer to ensure the delivered solution functionality is completely understood and adopted by the business.
  • Create and deliver periodic account reviews to multiple levels within client accounts Helps inform and educate clients on the ways to create value for the account and the wider industry
  • Meets assigned targets for revenue, inventory and other business objectives as defined
  • Actively extends the network with identified personas within the assigned client base
  • Proactively addressing client needs, issues, and requests to maintain a positive and productive relationship.
  • Working closely with various internal teams such as sales, product development, and support to effectively serve the client’s needs.
  • Seeking out opportunities to expand business with existing customers, such as upselling and cross-selling products/services

Skills & Experience:

  • Degree required.
  • Proven success in account management, preferably within a professional services environment.
  • Experience in the STM publishing industry is a significant advantage.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to connect with individuals at all organisational levels – both domestically and internationally.
  • Exceptional communicator, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Relationship and Account Management
  • Proficient with standard software tools (MS Office, Salesforce, etc.) and industry-specific tools (e.g., project management software like Jira)
  • Must be available to travel occasionally and independently, confidently representing the company at external events and meetings.
  • Project management experience desirable
