Our client, a leading STM Publisher, requires a new Head of Marketing Communications.

You will be responsible for managing the central provision of marketing communications, brand development and brand management including the strategic design aspect of it, overseeing the dissemination of reputation-enhancing information to customers and key internal and external stakeholders in the marketplace.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Develop, implement and oversee an overall cohesive brand management and communications strategy for the company and it’s product brands
  • Improve brand reputation to key external customer groups and stakeholders (authors, funders, partners and librarians)
  • Improve internal communication strategy to achieve better employee engagement throughout the organisation
  • Develop and implement a global PR strategy for the company to best position the company in the marketplace
  • Deliver market research activities and build customer intimacy through Voice of Customer to ensure the success of new and existing products.
  • Improve internal communication strategy to achieve better employee engagement throughout the organisation
  • Support the professional development of the teams to continuously develop skills and expertise and support career development aspiration.

Skills & Experience:

  • Educated to degree level.
  • A qualification in the marketing area (MSC/CIM qualification) is useful for the role but not essential. 
  • In-depth knowledge and experience of marketing communications and brand management in a digital environment, preferably, but not necessarily within the STM industry
  • Excellent proven track record in market communications and PR implementation within a global background
  • Proven track record in a senior marketing communication and or brand management position
  • Experience in leading a successful and well-motivated team of marketing people
  • Several years’ experience of people management, leading and motivating high performance teams in a changing environment
  • Ability to present effectively to wide audiences and win support
  • Building up and motivating effective cross-functional stakeholder management

Senior Marketing Manager, Research Information

Our client, a leading research information company, requires a new Senior Marketing Manager who will take the lead for developing the marketing strategy for key research data products. You will work closely with Editorial, Publishing, Business Operations and Heads of Marketing, to make the product the industry-leading Open Data product.

This role is pivotal to the research marketing team. You should be passionate about data, insight, analytics and our customers, it requires the ability to communicate vision, excellent planning and strategic skills, organisational and reporting skills, a creative approach to marketing, a focus on results and ROI , and strong people skills to work collaboratively with senior internal and external stakeholders. 

Previous experience working with Researchers would be a big advantage.

Skills & Experience:

  • University degree, preferably in science or business/marketing or a similar qualification
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Ability to craft integrated marketing strategies across all channels and touch points – online and offline
  • Proven experience of developing creative and innovative marketing strategies and implementing successful results-orientated campaigns
  • Creative thinker with excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Experience of working in global teams and understanding regional variations and the impact on customer requirements
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects at once and adapt to changing situations quickly and effectively
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • A commitment to developing marketing best practice
  • Fluent in business level English
  • Understanding of working within the publishing industry
