Our client, a leading global scientific publisher, seeks a Vice President of Sales (A&G) – Europe to lead strategic sales initiatives that drive revenue growth and enhance customer engagement across the region.
This senior leadership role will oversee a large, geographically distributed sales team responsible for delivering research solutions to academic and government institutions across the UK, DACH, and Northwest/Southwest Europe. The VP will play a pivotal role in meeting annual revenue targets set by the Management Board and will be actively involved in high-level negotiations with major national consortia and libraries, particularly those engaged in Open Access initiatives.
Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience working for an STM (Scientific, Technical, and Medical) or academic publisher, with a strong focus on selling to the academic and government sectors – a must for this role.
- Demonstrated success in leading, motivating, and developing high-performing commercial teams across multiple countries.
- Proven ability to manage large sales organisations and consistently exceed revenue targets, ideally within an institutional sales context.
- Extensive experience in complex negotiations with a strong track record of driving successful outcomes.
- Skilled at engaging with senior leadership and executive teams to align commercial strategies with broader business goals.
- A strong background operating within a complex, global matrix environment is essential for success in this role.
- Experience working in international business settings is highly desirable.
- Prior experience in the publishing or editorial sector, including a solid understanding of Open Access market dynamics.
